Árstíðir

In 2011 I saw a documentary about Árstíðir. Ever since then I have wanted to see them live, but the way to Iceland seemed a bit far.

In 2012 they toured Germany, so I picked the closest concert (in Osnabrück) and was amazed. They are just wonderful live. This was certainly not the last time I have seen them. I was right, it wasn’t the last time. One week later I went to Plauen to see them again.

Osnabruck / Plauen

My tour year 2013 started with Árstíðir. A great start for me. They returned to Plauen to receive the “Eiserner Eversteiner” award and play a concert. This was only the first one of many more concerts that year. I ended up seeing them in ten different countries from Poland to Canada, followed their tour with Pain of Salvation and Anneke van Giersbergen, accompanied them in Germany in the fall and attended their Christmas concert in Reykjavík as the final show.

In 2014 I was back in Reykjavík twice before seeing them play anywhere else, accompanied them through Germany, Czech Republic and PPoland in spring and again in Germany in the fall, I saw them at Iceland Airwaves and even in Russia, attended an advent concert with a symphonic orchestra in Akureyri and was back in Reykjavík for Christmas
