P!nk – Dortmund; April 8th 2009<\/strong><\/p>\n

I just returned from one of the most awesome concerts I have ever seen. P!NK graced the Westfalenhallen in Dortmund with her presence and provided a night of great music, acrobatics and entertainment. Not my usual style, scripted show and all, but bloody amazing. I was very much blown away and that does not happen often these days.<\/p>\n

Considering it all started somewhat badly I\u2019m even happier with how the night ended. There was the usual chaos when they let us in (when will security people ever learn?) and I had some extremely annoying smokers around me once I was inside (in a non-smoking hall, mind you). Neither of that made me feel comfortable, especially since there seemed to be no air condition whatsoever, but there was nothing I could do to change it. I got an OK spot near the front though and vowed to enjoy the show either way.<\/p>\n

The support act, Gunray were a bit boring. Alright to listen to, but nothing to write home about. After they were done it took ages until it was finally time for the real show.<\/p>\n

The intro was AC\/DC\u2019s \u2018Highway to Hell\u2019 and the screens showed Pink getting on a motorbike and driving. She did not drive into the hall on a motorcycle though, she was pulled up out of the stage and floated above us during \u2018Bad Influence\u2019, the first song, her long dress trailing behind her. She came down on stage, rid herself of the trail on her dress and launched into the next song while the dancers and acrobats moved all around her.<\/p>\n

For ‘I touch myself\u2019 she was lounging on a sofa, wearing next to nothing with hands coming out of the cushions. Very sexy. She is really smoking hot.<\/p>\n

Changing costumes several times, dancing and swinging from a trapeze she still never sang a wrong note. Amazing. It was so much fun watching her sing and interact with the audience. For an acoustic set she sat on chairs at a smaller stage in front of the main stage with the guitar player and bassist, singing ‘I don\u2019t believe you\u2019 and ‘Chrystal Ball\u2019. ‘Family Portrait\u2019 was sung only accompanied by the piano.<\/p>\n

She moved from stage to catwalk, to the ceiling and back, hanging on a swing, going down a slide, dancing around with mirrors. The band was great too and the dancers were really talented. The stage looked amazing too and was well integrated in the whole show. For ‘Glitter in the air\u2019 she was hanging from the ceiling inside a fabric swing and dipped into water. Glitter rained down on us and the show ended. WOW!<\/p>\n

I totally loved it and I’m already contemplating going again in the fall. The closest to this type of concert I have ever been to was Robbie Williams and this was a few notches more of everything. Better? Not sure, but certainly different. I am happy I went.<\/p>\n
