Close, closer, awesome!

Poets of the Fal – Tampere; July 16th 2010

The guys are on their way home now and I should be going to bed, but I am too wound up to sleep. Tonight has left me speechless and I cannot explain why other that I decided not to take any pictures and completely fell into it.

Before the gig it was the usual hanging out with K. and J., later meeting more people, old and new friends. We aieted, got in, went straight for the stage. It was a strange stage with a acrylic glass railing and quite low. Also very wide, but not deep, so I decided it was too close to take pictures and kept my camera around my neck but didn’t use it. Thus I could concentrate on what was going on without looking for pictures and it was pure awesome.

Marko was right in front of me – so close I could see every hair on his arms and could have touched him had I wanted to. During one song he sat on the railing next to me and in front of S. When the microphone cable got tangled and he had to free it I laughed and he grinned at me – that look said “See! I did it on my own!”

I sweat bucketloads and at one point I reached out, to get the water bottle from Marko. He misunderstood me though and shook my hand instead. 😀 Captain was playing on a little guitar hero plastic guitar for a while which was funny to watch and Jaska and Ollie were right in front of us for their solos. They all were in a great mood, joking and talking too much. All I understood was that Marko said something about “kuuma ilta” in the beginning. It’s gonna be a hot evening. And it was indeed. When playing the solo Ollie was so close I could see the sweat running down his face. I also could have easily played Jaska’s guitar a few times. ‘Change’ worked really well this time. Started in the first row and then spread to everyone. Marko has learned to look at us first and then start swinging his arms ;).

What a night! We had a wonderful time and even got to chat with Ollie and Jaska briefly after the gig. Just one more and the summer tour will be over.
