Poets of the Fall – Forssa; July 3rd 2010
5 or so hours of sleep, fully woken by a cat that decided to sit on me as soon as I opened my eyes for a second. Spent the morning working on my pictures from the previous show and woke up K. around noon.
First food, then a fun drive to Forssa. Checking in to my hotel, getting drinks, checking out the location (small), staying in the shade, waiting, meeting friends, hanging out… the usual. We got in and took our spots in front row. First some cover band played. They were entertaining and OK to listen to.
Finally the Poets came on at 19:00 – early gig for them. It was still really warm outside, the sun was low. Thus we got to see lots of sunglasses and Jaska’s terrible sunburn. Has nobody ever taught the man about sunscreen?
Being a festival setting the show was short and they left out some of my favorites. Still we had a bunch of fun. The distance to stage was too large for direct interaction and there were not so many fans around. It seemed they had to work almost harder than the previous night in Naantali. The location was nice, though and the show was fun. I loved it, we all did 🙂
After the gig we stayed for food and checked out the next band, then realized that Stratovarius weren’t all that interesting and left. Less than a week to go until the next gig.
